Reading from John 2:1-10 Jesus performed the first of His signs at Cana in Galilee where He turned water into wine at a wedding.

Most of us may assume that Jesus just happened to be there because of who He is and ignore the fact that He was invited to that wedding.

"John 2:1-2 On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with His disciples."

Jesus was invited!

We all know how tedious it is to plan for a wedding or any other kind of party, usually the number of guests has a lot to do with choice of venue, food, drinks, and so on; invitations are sent out early and the hosts go on with the preparations.

If you think deeper, this couple placed themselves in a position to receive a miracle when they invited Jesus to their party.

I am glad this message came at the start of a new year when many of us are planning and making new resolutions hoping that at the end we shall reap a great harvest which could be success, love, peace, joy, laughter; the things we look for at a party.

My question is, have you invited Jesus to your party? Including Him, seeking His wisdom and guidance as you plan is an invite; and work diligently with obedience as you wait for His hour to come.

God desires to have a relationship with us and when we welcome and receive Him into our hearts; His light and love is manifested in our lives.
